Remodel Project – Home Stretch!
The dining nook is looking fabulous, just needs the finishing touches!

OK so it’s been a couple of months and our remodel project is in the home stretch – can you say HALLELUJAH! While at times the journey was a bit frustrating (did I mention things will inevitably go wrong no matter how much you plan), in the end it will be worth the work. This is when all the cabinetry, counter tops, and finish light fixtures are installed. Where the finish mill work is painted to perfection and your new bathroom fixtures and appliances are put in place. Where your blank canvas is ready for the gorgeous new pieces you lovingly selected and carefully and thoughtfully put into their new homes.
And although in these last stages it seems like things should go fast given you picked out all the finish items months ago in the design phase, it’s the last 10% that take the longest to complete. This is the detail work and what will be visible once complete. So even though you may be anxious to finish your project and may be willing to live with that cabinet that off by ¼ inch, DON’T! That ¼ inch may not seem like much in and of itself, but it will have a ripple effect on the counter top, back splash and any upper cabinets or shelves you may put above it, and every time you walk into that kitchen you will regretfully stare at that slight imperfection.
So patience, it will all come together as planned and as envisioned and you will soon be living in your new masterpiece of a home!
